The anonymity rules we run on

Clinical research is a small world. A datapoint that says "senior CRA, rare disease, mid-size CRO, Denver" can be one person. We built the rules for that world, not for tech, and we are publishing them before asking anyone to trust us with anything.

Survey datapoints

No cut of salary data is ever published with fewer than 8 datapoints behind it. Any cut that names an employer needs 15. Below those thresholds, your datapoint rolls up into the next broader bucket: the named CRO becomes "global CRO," the state becomes a region. The thresholds are deliberately stricter than general-purpose salary sites use, because our industry's teams are smaller.

Survey responses carry no name, no email, and no account. We do not use analytics trackers that could tie a response to an identity. The optional free-text field is reviewed by a human and quoted only in curated roundups. It is never auto-published, and we edit out any detail that could identify a person, a site, or a study before quoting.

What we will never publish

Study-confidential information, patient information, protocol details that are not already public, and specific factual allegations about named individuals without public sourcing. This is a workers' publication, not a leak site. The line is simple: we publish what the industry is like to work in, not what is inside anyone's trial.

When the community opens

The anonymous community layer opens after the survey crosses 500 responses. Its verification design is set already:

  • Membership is verified with a work email. The email is used once for a sign-in link, then stored only as a one-way hash so we can prevent duplicates. We cannot recover it, display it, or sell it.
  • You post under a persistent pseudonym with the same broad "Industry professional" badge as every other member. Your employer is never displayed or attached to your public identity.
  • Employer-specific channels stay locked until at least 30 verified members from that employer have joined. An unlocked channel means you are one voice among at least 30.

Who runs this

Open Label is independent and worker-side. It is not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any CRO, sponsor, or industry association. If that ever changes, this page changes first, loudly.

If you see a gap in these rules, email us. The rules improving is the product improving.

Open Label is building the salary dataset this industry never had. Add your anonymous datapoint. Three minutes, no name, no email.
